When we’re open we will be serving:

Lovely Cakes, Refreshments & Light Snacks

We have some lovely cakes in stock including gluten and/or dairy free and plenty of fresh coffee and teas. We also have a range of hot snacks available and our kitchen is open all day. For those who enjoy tea, our Somerset tea has been especially blended for the hard water in this area, and the coffee, widely held to be the best around, is roasted in Somerset by Martin Cawardines (a family-run firm since 1861), is sustainable, Fairtrade, and organic.

We also have hot food available. See our social media (Facebook and Instagram) for daily updates.

Please note that we prepare our food in a kitchen with products containing gluten and nuts as well as other allergens. While we have taken all reasonable steps to ensure our food is as labelled we cannot guarantee that any product is allergen-free due to the risk of cross-contamination.

Home Baked and Locally Sourced

We bake our own scones and sponges, and our meat is sourced from local butcher Complete Meats. All our soup is homemade and features some varied and exciting combinations such as Butternut Squash, Apricot and Ginger, a big favourite! Our soup is gluten free and nearly always vegetarian if not vegan, and is served with freshly baked bread or a cheese toastie.

We offer fantastic breakfasts, from a full English to beans on toast. We use butchers bacon and sausages, or how about comforting crumpets or a toasted teacake?

Lunches and Afternoon Tea

For lunch, we often serve our mouth-watering home-made soup with freshly baked bread, or a range of gluten-free dishes including homity pie, mushroom and leek (vegan), and French Cassoulet (vegan), Later this year we are hoping to bring back our lovely roast lunches and our lunch Clubs. We’ll keep you posted.

Cream Teas

We invite you to try one of our Devon Cream Teas – we regularly offer gluten-free plain scones – or our Savoury Tea with our own home-made cheese scones? The latest addition to our menu was a Black Forest Cream Tea which features a chocolate scone, black cherry jam and clotted cream accompanied with a lovely pot of tea. Super indulgence!
