The Garden Sage- Garden Advisory Service
Creating a beautiful and manageable garden is a source of great enjoyment. There are, however, times when all gardeners may appreciate some professional advice.
In addition to and independent from our garden centre, we are offering an inexpensive garden advisory service. On a consultancy basis, we can provide you with the benefits of more than 25 years experience in all aspects of garden design, planting and construction.
We will visit your garden to discuss your problems and requirements and then submit a full professional report, accompanied by relevant material such as:
Sketch plans
Plant lists
Sources of materials
Fact sheets
Soil information
Diagrams and pictures
and any other information you may require, all tailored to you and your garden.
Once you realise the landscaping possibilities of your property, you will be much better equipped to tackle the work yourself or to employ the appropriate skilled help.
The fee of £75.00 covers a one hour on-site consultation followed by a report and information, and includes travelling within a 10 mile radius of Colyton; thereafter fixed rates according to distance- please enquire.
In our experience one hour is usually sufficient time to deal with most enquiries. Additional time on site is charged at £25.00 per hour.
Some examples of what we offer:
Advice for the DIY enthusiast, sketches and construction details for features; tree, shrub and plant ideas, all tailored to your particular site.
Sources of all types of construction materials, plants, and ornaments etc.
problem solving, difficult areas, screening unwanted views, low maintenance gardening, getting the best results from a limited budget, and avoiding expensive mistakes.
Advice on site and integrating garden sheds, greenhouses, garages and parking areas etc.
A garden health check, answering those technical questions, how to maintain and improve the well-being and success of your garden.
You may have moved house and could do with an independent appraisal of the garden before you start work on it. What are the gardens' strengths and weaknesses; what plants you have; what is the soil like; are your ideas for improving it feasible; what alternatives are there?
