Our delightfully cosy, dog-friendly café – an oasis of calm in a sea of chaos – has seating for 22 indoors and up to 12 outside among the gardens and plants. The Somerset tea has been especially blended for the hard water in this area, and the coffee (blended by Martin Cawardine and Co from Somerset) is to die for! Why not try one of our Devon Cream Teas (we can now offer gluten-free plain scones), or our Savoury Tea with Hog’s Bottom Devon Chutney and our own home-made cheese scones?
For lunch, how about our mouth-watering home-made soup with freshly baked bread, or a range of gluten-free dishes including Devon pasties, cheese and onion quiche, homity pie or butternut squash and bean tart. We also have a wide range of snacks available and our kitchen is open all day. For those who enjoy afternoon tea, there is a fantastic range of cakes, including gluten and/or dairy free.
We are now taking bookings for our Christmas Lunches available on Sunday 3rd, 10th and 17th December. Please click here to see the menu. There will be a ‘Not Christmas’ lunch on 24th December of Beef Casserole with dumplings and seasonal vegetables, followed by treacle sponge and custard or our special trifle. We are not licensed, but feel free to bring your own wine if you wish.
Also available to order are our home-made Christmas Puddings and Mince Pies.
The Café is open from 10.00am until 4.00pm Monday to Sunday.
